Library History
Dr. Jones Comes to Town
In 1920, Glenn A. Jones, MD arrived in Johnstown and set up his practice. He was well loved by many in the community. Upon his passing, his wife, Dorothy, requested that the community help build a true library for the public.

On October 23, 1967, the Glenn A Jones, MD Memorial Library opened its first location on the corner of Jay Avenue and Idaho Street in Johnstown.
New Library Constructed
As the communities of Johnstown and Milliken continued to grow, the library decided to grow too! In 2005, a new building was constructed at 400 S. Parish, its current location.
Milliken Location Opens
In 2021, the town of Milliken and the Glenn A Jones MD Memorial Library partnered to create a second location for a library collection in Milliken. The space, previously a computer lab, now houses a small library collection and Mill Haus Coffee.
