Library of Things

Services

This unique collection expands beyond traditional library materials, supporting the “sharing economy” by reducing waste through shared use of items. It also allows patrons to “try before you buy,” helping you save money and discover new things. Items from this collection are available for checkout to Johnstown and Milliken patrons aged 18 and older.

Our collection includes over 130 items for our Johnstown and Milliken patrons to check out on a first-come, first-served basis. We’ve included a small sampling of items in our collection below but we invite you to contact us or stop by the Circulation Desk to see the complete list of items available in our Library of Things.

Patrons are limited to one item per checkout period; most items can be checked out for one week with the exception of mobility aids and instruments which can be checked out for three weeks.

Our Library of Things collection is stored at our Johnstown location and only available to Johnstown and Milliken patrons.

A waiver must be signed before items from our Library of Things may be checked out. Waivers are available at the Circulation Desk.

Items from our collection must be checked out by adult cardholders, aged 18 and older, who are in good standing.
